Can anyone clarify the tone out search feature? I have gone to "setup" and plugged in the frequency that I want monitored and left both tones A and B at zero because I don't know the tones, I want the scanner to find them. However, when the tones are transmitted (I hear them on my other scanner), nothing happens. I am under the impression that the scanner, when "searching" is supposed to decode the tones as they are transmitted. Any insights?

Thanks.

Make sure the ATTenuator isn't on. My 346XT and BCT15 both seem to turn it on automatically in tone-out mode when I upload a new Freescan file (even though ATT is disabled in Freescan).

Set your modulation for NFM...not Auto...took me a while to figure this out works for me in NFM mode

It should work in Auto mode, too, but if the A tone is too short the radio might not have time to respond properly.

Be sure you have turned on some sort of alert so you know if the tone is decoded or not.
