Had a good friend hook me up with two working crystal scanners, talk about nastolgia! One is an Electra Bearcat III and the other is an RS Pro-47 Patrolman. Talk about old school. I haven't had a crystal scanner in ages! It's amazing how primitive these things used to be! :)

It's also amazing how good they sounded. Progress hasn't always been better in every aspect. Scanner synthesizers are horribly noisy.

I do have some pics I snapped, but either I can't upload 'em at all, or my primitive Blackberry browser doesn't have the option. I will get them up soon as I can :)

I have a Bearcat Electra-lll that was built in October of 1975. It works fine but I robbed the speaker out of it a long time ago and it's been sitting in the radio closet. You made me think that it would be so cool to locate some CHP crystals and run that old gem for Highway Patrol. What will you run on yours?

Ridgescan,

Mine came filled with crystals. Some still work for my area, others are old FHP channels, which are no good anymore. I will probably just use it how it sits. I don't have any other crystals at the moment =)
