A different county radio traffic

Your folks live in Edwards county Kansas. What state and county do you live in?

It appears that Kinsley is now using a repeater on 453.7375 for public safety. It is licensed for NFM and DMR. License is WRAV625.

They went digital a couple years ago. They use the Project 25 Phase II, the same that my county uses, Pottawatomie. I'm 190 miles from Edwards county.
Is it possible to get the county's radio traffic in my county??? Do you know how it's done? Please let me know. I don't see any info about the 453.7375 repeater.

So since it's a statewide system, It all depends how the system is configured.

If the tg's in Edwards County only affiliate with that site, then you will not receive any of those tg's. If any of the tg's in Edwards County do affiliate with your two sites, or any other site within range of you that you can recieve, then you should be able to listen. Easiest way to tell would be to add the Edwards tg's to your scanner and all sites you can receive and see what you get.

Other than just putting in the frequency with FreeScan, do I change any of the settings?

If you have the system in your scanner, and just want to try adding the talk groups, you can do that. You already have the site closest to you in there so if you add the tg's and dont hear anything, you could try adding other sites near you that you may receive.
