I live in Canada on the border with the USA
I purchased a uniden BCT15X anolog scanner & was very impressed with it even though my area has limited anolog I still get a few police dipatchments.
I have been considering saw adding its digital twin the BCD-996R2 & I have a few questions Im hoping someone can clarify.
When a digital broadcast is recieved (on a compatible digital scanner) does the scanner identify which technology is being used for that broadcast. In other words if a digital scanner picks up a phase I or a trunked system signal does it display the type of signal (ie trunked, phase II)
I guess what im asking is how can one identify what the beeps or tones that I get on my BCT15X analog scanner, and im wondering will the be same true with digital scanners or can digital scanners identify & ignore signals that cannot be processed and make sense of the "beeps"
Thanks again for any help
Robert
