A look back at LA County Fire dispatch in the 50's

A pair of articles gives an interesting look back to the 1955-56 as LA County Fire has just started to shifts from using dedicated phone lines when dispatching units to the "Selective Call Units", made famous by Emergency!, why there were implemented and their results early on.

The articles also discuss the radio systems the dispatch centers located throughout the county were using and expanding.

Just google the url, and then click on cache, it will come up with the entire article.

I just checked and it still comes up from the cache drop down.
