Loveland has REALLY been busy. It started with a boat overturn on Saturday that killed two. And a second overturn on Carter Lake--no injuries.
On Sunday, a lighting strike started a major fire at Ike and VanBuren that burned an apartment building for three hours before control. The fire was so bad for a while that LFD backed off and went defensive for about 30 minutes. Many people out of a home--mostly elderly.
At the same time that the VanBuren fire, lightning struck multiple people at Boyd Lake requiring that two people receive CPR by friends before LFD arrived. There may have been as many as 6 people hurt in that strike. No body died thanks to CPR.
At the same time, a MVA occurred in Masonville that LFD covered.
Simo to those events, Berthoud had to respond to an injury MVA at CR 17 and Hiway 56 and a second accident at I-25 and Hiway 56. Berthoud called in reserves as they had trucks helping LFD at the time.
LFD and Berthoud Fire were so busy, that Loveland had to request Mutual Aid assistance from Windsor and Poudre Fire.
And that doesn't count the drunk who went to sleep at the wheel of his car on Ike near I-25!
