Its been a while since I had a scanner in fact it only went to 512MHz and I now have just got a PRO-95. I am able to put in standard freq but dont understand about trunked ones and how to label them so I will know who I am listening to.I am in the north Ga area and want to listen to mostly Bartow,Gordon,Cherokee, forsyth,Floyd,Cobb, GSP,and areas around there. Is there anything like a help file that will assist in loading the freq like a scanners for dummies. I have downloaded Scan Lite Plus DEMO and WIN 95 but have not been able to get a clear grip on just how to use them.I did manage to get my NASCAR Freq in and labeled by driver. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Everyone will tell you to get the cable/software, BUT you can do it the old fashion way. I have 8 banks, 800 talkgroups, that I have text labels on. Let me know if I can help. Also, posting in your states forum, will get you to the people that know the systems you need help with.

Use Win95. (And fawn all over Don - he gave us a great program.)

>Bartow, Gordon, Cherokee, Floyd

Not trunked. Just put in the frequencies you want to monitor. (See the link below.)

>Forsyth

Digital (APCO 25) - you'll need a Pro-96 or some other scanner that can do digital for this one.

>Cobb

Motorola type II system. Put in the control frequencies, 1 per channel. 857.9875, 858.9875, 859.9875 and 860.2125. Set the Type to MOT and the Rx Mode in each channel to MOT.

Put in the talkgroup codes for the groups you want to hear. Check the "Closed" box under the SR3 tab.

You can do this one system per bank or, for Motorola systems, you can program more than 1 system per bank if you put a non-trunked frequency between 2 sets of control channels (but it looks as if you only need one trunked system).

>GSP

Georgia State Patrol? Not trunked.

Once you have everything set up, just upload it to the scanner.

Look at http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&stid=13 It has the system types and frequencies for the entire state.

You may have a bit of a problem as far as distance is concerned to some of these systems.
