Looks good Frank! Have you considered a BNC connector for the antenna connection? It might make it a little easier when mounting or removing the radio.

I use Ram and or Lido mounts that affix to a bolt on the seat floor and have a flexible arm. They're pretty solid and similar to his setup. I go off road and no problem. The only time it disengaged was when I was stationary and hit from behind around 40 MPH. One of the arms holds a Yaesu 400XDR control head and Kenwood 480SAT control head. The other holds a handheld scanner.

I prefer the RAM finger grip for the scanner cradle, with a ball mount attached to the back. It holds the scanner with a lot less play than a mic clip. And the scanner doesn't have to be in a case, so it can run a bit cooler.

Jon, will the RAM finger grip hold the SDS100 with the big battery?
