This is what a "Pecker" is
Home
Pulses a cw tone while you tune up your antenna. Lowers the duty cycle of the rig and the amp while tuning them up vs sending a constant tone the whole time.
Some friends were talking about making a shorting connector plug for rigs with a built in keyer to ground tip to ground to send continuous 'dits' to accomplish the same thing. I tried that, but this puts the side tone in constant key which I didn't like the idea of.
So I grabbed a little project box I had kicking around and put two switches in parallel , a momentary I had and a toggle.
Wired that from tip to ground on a 1/4" TRS connector for my TS-2000's paddle jack and it works great.
Just another small thing to do while you're bored around the shack.
