i came up with a crude way to track an LTR Passport system using the Uniden BC296 - if 2 conditions are met...
1) the Passport user must not be mobile outside of the current Passport site
2) the Passport system cannot exceed 10 frequencies per site
example: a hotel using a Passport system for local operations.
using LTRTrunk, i am able to determine a set of 6 frequencies make up LTR Passport Site 1034.
i plug each of the 6 frequencies into it's own memory channel IN 6 SEPARATE BANKS in the 296.
each frequency is then assigned Priority Status, "P"
when a user of interest comes up on the system, the owner of the BC296 can activate the Priority Plus feature of the scanner and instantly track all channels assigned a "P"...if an unwanted user stalls the frequency, the owner of the BC296 can just press RSM and keep tracking all the frequencies in the system.
i know it's crude, but it appears to work better than the 780 "negative delay" for LTR Passport systems trick.
once again, you will not be able to track mobile users roaming from site to site, nor will you be able to plug in more than 10 frequencies for the Passport system you want to monitor (there are only 10 banks in the 296 that can be assigned Priority status...)
