Hi Everyone,

I have a question for anyone who owns a Radioshack PRO-96:

I currenty own a PRO-93 and i am thinking about upgrading because many agencies are now digital or about to turn digital in the Columbus Area. Now here's my question, there is a Budweiser Plant near my house and they use a Motorola SmartNet system with Digital Encryption. Since the PRO-96 is a Digital Scanner, can it listen to this system that uses Digital Encryption???

Thanks Guys,
Colin :D :D

No scanner can monitor encrypted comms. It's illegal per the FCC rules and regs. The Pro 96 can monitor Apco 25 digital systems that aren't encrypted. The Pro 96 is a great choice for a scanner. Go for it.

Yeah it does sound like a good scanner how good is the reception, because i love how my PRO-93 receives, it is like a base station built into a walkie! How good is the PRO-96 Reception? How about the sound?

Both sound quality (ona analog and digital) Get an A+. It also recieves great as well. Especially if you have the 800 MHz antenna from RS.

Almost every Anheuser-Busch plant that's listed in the RR database uses fulltime encryption.

I guess when ya got a boatload of money, you might as well waste it on something like that
