Anyone have experience w/ the A/S base antenna (Mon 751) on 35-40 MHZ? It's product literature rates it for 50-800+ MHZ....would imagine it is, at least, fair at the lower freqs. Reviews on this site seem to suggest that it leaves a lot to be desired on 800-900 (no surprise) and that it is not so spectacular on VHF-Hi. I'm really just concerned w/ VHF-Low.

I've used an A/S MONR31 like that shown at http://www.weisd.com/store2/ANTMONR31.html . It's not cheap but it's well made and does a good job of both VHF-Lo and VHF-Hi. It's built like a tank. I had mine up on the roof for about 10 years before I replaced it with a discone becusue more 800 mHz systems were coming on line and the MONR31 is really poor above 174 mHz.
