There was a huge opening this evening for over 6 hours. There is still some skip as I type. Wished I could have got it all. I really just grabbed some here and there as I was occupied with the tv. CITO, The CTV station in Timmins Ontario. was on my screen with some good ole fuzzy analog. Timmins is roughly 910 miles from my location.

Here is the small sample of today's skip. KCF415, Lakes region, Goshen, Teaticket, Rindge, Coventry, 60-Control, N. Walpole and a few others. Some odd tones, something that sounds like digital and stations competing for the frequency. I tried to eliminate most of the static. This is somewhat edited as you here the timestamps.

Sample

Grab shot of CTV logo from CITO.

Received in North Carolina. Uniden BC75XLT, 120ft recycled Commscope RG6 solid copper core quad shield, homebrew dipole recycled from an old RS Archer 20-014.

Great screen grab, wow that's pretty far away but not surprised that it's analog. TV DX'ing is tons of fun. Here, from around 7 - 9 am when there's fog in our valley digital TV DX from neighboring states comes in sporadically, and with the newer TV sets with the ability to "freeze frame" it's a lot easier to document. Some tuners even can identify the TV station's callsign, super. Thanks for the great post 217.

I remember years ago probably back in the 80's or so picking up some TV DX from Las Vegas. Watching Star Trek on a Las Vegas TV station in Topeka Kansas. Super cool. Used to pick up KOAM TV in Pittsburg all the time.

I thought digital killed off TV DX'ing.

I enjoy DXing with the scanners and my other hobby is Digital tv dxing.

Grabshot of KHAS from Hastings Nebraska one year after the transition to digital. In 2010 using a 1982 RCA XL-100 tv, Channel Master CM-3020 and a Zenith DTT901 Digital TV Tuner. I managed to get this horrible grabshot. This will never happen again as KHAS is no longer
on-air.

Grabshot of WLBZ Bangor Maine in 2017. Using the Channel Master CM-3020 and a Insignia 39" LED-1080p-60Hz-HDTV.
