• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Well, more radios danced across my threshold tonight. I scored the following:

1. Tram D201a in the original box with paperwork and matching D104

2. SBE Land Command LCBS-8 40-channel AM/SSB base

3. Hallicrafters HCM-261 mobile CB

4. Browning Sabre mobile (working, but needs a meter)

5. D104

6. PDC-600 meter

7. CPI meter

8. Kris 23-channel mobile

Paid $100.

Life is good.

I uploaded what I could. Other pics are too large for the server.

Nice acquisition but one of these days all of those radios that you are gathering are liable to exceed the load rating of your floors... :ROFLMAO: That Tram D201a could fetch you around $500 alone to the right person. Out of curiosity, if you have the original Bill of Sale, how much did they pay for that tube rig and what was the date?

I am going to go through the box tonight and see what all paperwork goodies are in there. I've watched complete and working D201A models with the boxes and mic go for over a grand. Cobra 2000's are also fetching that kind of stupid money.

Of particular interest to me are the Hallicrafters and Browning mobiles. Hallicrafters was known as a ham radio manufacturer Browning, we all know, was a recognized name.

I'm not quite sure why the photos are coming back as too large for the server when I try and upload them, while the first two were shot from the same phone and uploaded just fine.

My Tram D201a was purchased new by my father-in-law in early 1978, and the sale price was $762 with shipping and handling.
