Hello, I recently purchased two Pro 164s. One for me and one for my
father. My Father's works flawlessly, however mine is having
trouble. When programmed with the same frequencies, mine simply
cannot get anywhere near the reception his gets. I have no idea what
the problem is. Here are a couple of the things that I have tried and
the results:
I have checked the attenuator, it is not a factor.
I have played around with the squelch, no difference.
I have had both scanners in the exact same location on the same
frequency and the difference between the two is dramatic.
I have checked the batteries.
I have swapped the antennas on them to see if it made a difference:
nope.
I have taken the antenna off, whatever reception it gets goes away.
I have tried comparing reception on both motorolla control
frequencies and aviation frequencies, mine scores lower in both
areas.
I have jiggled the antenna but there is no change in reception.
It is in the correct trunking mode.
I have even tried yelling at it and threatening it. Apparently it's
not scared.

Any Ideas? It may just need to be sent back I suppose.

I dont have any ideas but usually RS is good about repairs.

If your radio is under warranty, take it back and get a new one.
