A6 Patched to K6

It's 00:42 on the morning of 6/14 and the most interesting thing is happening. There is a Brush Fire on Christian Church Rd and St RT 74. It appears that A6 is patched thru to K6. I'm receiving all coms from the incident on K6 just like I do on the Mesa Ch3 VHF Patch. Probably a staffing issue in the Alarm Room but it's nice to hear all sides for once without using several radios.

Also, same time they have a 1st Alarm Brush working at E 75th Ave and W Baseline Rd on A9. However that's not simulcast, too bad.

Looked into this, the incident was moved to K6 for better reception at the request of command. They weren’t patched.

If i understand your question, that zone's purpose is for command officers who are a distance away from the fire ground to monitor radio transmissions. It is not a tactical use zone.

Are the encrypted patches to the A-deck channels monitored by Alarm, or are they for distant units responding to the incident to keep themselves updated?

Not monitored by alarm. There’s no need since the A deck audio that we receive in alarm is the same that’s going out on the AA decks.

But we do have them in our portables and can check to see if the patch is up. Sometimes we need to get in the back room to reset it.
