AA FD Training on TG 400, Scanner Listener Calls Police

AA County Fire is doing training this evening on TG 400 "1M" , as they have been for some time, They are doing drills, prefaced with "Mayday, Mayday" Firefighter X Trapped, etc....

Now the weird thing -

I just heard one of the Police dispatchers (missed the district) discussing a call that they had received from someone that was hearing "a lot of maydays on their scanner"

I trust it wasn't anyone here.......

I hope not, especially since on most of those training "Mayday" calls you can hear the instructor in the background leading the exercise.

Howard County has been doing RIT training on our 39280 - FI30. There has been training off of Rt 108 in Clarksville and now it's somewhere in downtown Columbia near the lakefront. This has been going on here for a month or so. Just thought I'd throw this in.

Thats funny....My wife was doing laundry the other day and gave me a call at work saying that Sta 2 had a working fire with numerous people trapped. Called me at work than realized it was just a drill. She thought the world was on fire the way they were talking.

I was listening the last week around the same time the storms were hitting and a female was in training dispatching calls. I heard a couple of boxes dispatch then never heard any units responding. I finally looked at the scanner and realized all of the dispatches she was broadcasting was on TG Mike.

Any time something sounds weird check the channel. If its on Mike its training.

i dont understand something...

mike is the CMD channel for K & L

hotel and india are SPECIAL OPS CHANNELS (no longer mutual aid)

not that it really makes a difference since we dont really use the CMD channels, but wouldnt it make sense to put training on 1H or 1I?
