Today, while monitoring the system while I was at lunch, I heard a couple of transport units report mileage to Fire Alarm when announcing a transport to a medical facility, then an ending mileage when they arrived. What is this for, since I know it's not done for all transports?

EDIT: I spel reel gud.

LOL at the spelling...

as for the mileage... when transporting a female (the police do this too), they call their mileage (begining and ending) to the dispatcher so just in case the female decided to claim she was taken somewhere else and harassed or sexually assaulted or what have you. this way they can go back and say "ok, its X many miles from here to there, and that matches the mileage"

happy scanning!

Yes, I hear BCPD do that all the time...though I've never heard the med guys do it....one less thing to worry about when it comes time to needle 'em, a la Steven Oken...
