AACo TRS failure earlier today?

Can anyone shed any light on the apparent Anne Arundel County TRS system failure that occurred today? Not sure if it was the entire system, but from about 1612 until about 1630, there was some kind of issue on both analog and digital sides.

From the limited info I have, it sounds as though there may have been some type of fail-soft, simplex comms available for first responders, but it seems as though the towers were certainly down for 15+ minutes. Scary...

I am curious also. I was listening at the time and thought at first I had turned the volume down. Fire went on Condition Red and 154.01 worked but none of the 800mhz talkgroups did. I started listening to some of the interoperability frequencies and someone was either calling for or saying they were Anne Arundel County on 8Tac91. Then when the radio system came up there was some talking on November about contacting MEMA. Sounded like they were going to use interoperability frequencies but the system came back up. Police did a roll call when they came back up.

I noticed after this problem yesterday my reception of AA county is weak. The transmissions im getting are broken and scratchy. Anyone else noticed this ? I also heard northern dispatcher call in units for radio repair at 730 this morning, Im right in the heart of AA county and have always had excellent reception of this system.

I haven't noticed a weaker signal, but I live very close to a tower. I did hear a few dispatchers talking about "towers being down." Perhaps the tower nearest to you might be one of them.

Thanks for the reply. Was thinking my antenna bit the dust but its the same reception with the outdoor antenna and the 800 rubber duck. The tower on Mountain rd is about four miles from my house. Hope they fix it soon

They have a radio repair guy on the back lot at Millersville everyThursday morning until 10 or 10: 30 to fix problems with the XTVA's, antennas, etc. As for the system problems yesterday, they were supposed to be fixed by this morning.

I found out the problem was my antenna connection broke and the cable was just laying inside the pole. Just got around to replacing the cable today. Maybe its just me but I have noticed a difference between my old run of lmr 400 and the times lmr I just bought.
