I'm relatively close to this system, but do not pick up anything. I have configured the system based on RR info. Does anyone have any knowledge or update?

What are you scanning on? Its possible the system is not updated and has changed, so you might need to do some exploration. Start with the the licensed frequencies, and see if you get any CC/LSN info, then you can start building the trunked system

I’m using RTL-SDR and SDS100. I scoured the 935 MHz band and it’s vast nothingness. I will research the licensed frequencies as suggested.

Check how powerful the repeaters are under the license, its possible they have a small coverage area for on site ops

Look under the Lake Co trunk profile. There are 3 sites, with different frequencies. Keep in mind just because a license says 100watts output, doesn't mean the owner has the system set-up that way. It could only really be short range, or paperwork filed for future expansion. **Comparing the Radio Ref profile to the actual fcc data, it seems this system may have rebanded and has new frequencies. Please report back what you can find out. Thanks-

I found licensing information as shown here: ULS License - Other Indust/Land Transp. 896-901/935-940 MHz, Trunked License - WNQK681 - ABBOTT LABORATORIES
I put together a tentative band plan as listed in the FCC records. I assigned the new pseudo network ID of 681 (for WNQK681). I configured the three sites as follows: Site 1 (RT 41 & MLK Drive), Site 3 (1401 Sheridan Rd) and 5 (Abbott Park). All sites appear to be putting out 100w.

This did not work. Any ideas as to what might be missing?

Maybe they simply have nothing active on 900 mhz? Or maybe its so low power that you can't pick it up. It's probably all encrypted if it does exist. And unless the decimal network ID _is_ 681, and unless it _is_ actually a Con+ system, then all of the data you have put in the files will not help you to trunk track it. LCNs are likely not 1/2/3/4/5/6 on a Con+ either.

Your best bet is to manually step through every frequency on every site -- see if you can find ANY active freq. If it's active with a constant signal, then it's probably a control channel -- in which case you should tune to it with DSDPlus and see what the control channel output tells you.

Looks like someone found the new system info. I shall try it out.

I'm guessing at the bandplan. And since there is only a single frequency in the DB for each site, you aren't going to be able to trunktrack it with anything.

For DSDPlus, try this (assuming my bandplan calculation is correct, and it may not be):

DSDPlus
To differentiate this "S1" network from others you may encounter, per the DSDPlus documentation you can use a Network ID prefix to disambiguate this system.

The RRDB page is: Wood Communications (800 MHz LTR) Trunking System, Union City, Tennessee
The Network ID Prefix can range from 1-4096
It is recommended that the prefix be chosen from the first 3-4 numbers of the RRDB page (1293)
So in this example I have used 1293

Actually, I think I calculated everything correctly. What you would put in Uniden is definitely correct. And almost 100% certain the info for DSDPlus is fine as well.

You should try the DSDPlus.Networks / .Sites / .Frequencies stuff and see what happens.

I just realized that from your post with data, the LCNs in the Uniden Scanner section do not match up with your DSDPlus.Frequencies data. Or am I missing something? Also for side ID, should it not be S1 for size, and 1 (or 2 or 3) for site?

They aren't suppsoed to. Uniden scanners use LCNs. DSDPlus uses LSNs. I already told you why i set things up the way i did -- disambiguation. If you set up your DSDPlus file using S1, you are inevitably going to run into completely separte S1 systems down the road that have nothing to do with Abbvie and you will be confused. Everybody and there mother who sets up a TIII network likes to use S1 or L1..

It's not like if you put that stuff in your files your computer is going to get hacked. Paste the stuff in. If it works, great. If it doesn't, remove it.

I get what you're saying, I'm an IT professional so I have no issues with computer use :) I do understand the need for disambiguation, but I'm confused as to the formatting of it. Sites file has the below samples and I'm just trying to make sense of it for my own sanity. I want to have a solid basic understanding of DSD+ and then I can expand from there. That said, I will be physically closer to those sites later this week and will do my testing with your configuration. Thanks for your help!

; line format: protocol, networkID, siteNumber, "site name"
;
; for TIII, siteNumber format = area.site
;
; for TIIIStd and TIIInonStd, add TIII model code (T/S/L/H) before networkID
;
; for TIIIStd, siteNumber format = area.site
; for TIIInonStd, siteNumber format = site

This is a Motorola Capacity Max (CAPMAX) system, thus a TierIII non-standard system.

pre-disambiguation:

TIIInonStd,S1,1,63,935.1875,0.0,0

post-disambiguation:

TIIInonStd,S1293:1,1,63,935.1875,0.0,0

To disambiguate, you add a number from 1-4096 and then a colon :)) between the Network Model (S) and the Network ID (1) -- thus S1293:1

Per the DSDPlus notes.txt file, it is recommended to use the first 3-4 numbers of the RRDB page

That page is:

Code:
https://www.radioreference.com/db/sid/12934

Since you can't use 12934 (its larger than 4096), I chose 1293. You can choose whatever number you want. but with this disambiguation setup, you are pretty much not guaranteed to ever run into another TIII system that is S1293:1 lol.

TIIInonStd,S1293:1,1,63,935.1875,0.0,0

PROTOCOL, NETWORK ID, SITE NUMBER, LSN/CHID, OUTPUT FREQ, INPUT FREQ, SORT ORDER

Sort Order doesn't matter, but it needs to exist
Input Freq is useless, so everyone sets it to 0.0
Output Freq is the trunked repeater freq
LSN/CHID is a pair (like 171/172) but you only need to add one of them --I add the odd ones
Site Number -- the Site ID (this site is 1)
Network ID (combination of the Network Model and Network ID -- S1)
Protocol - self explanatory

I have made some progress with this, but I see something in the event log that I don't understand. When I load the Abbott Park site, It loads the site and network, but appears to block a change from S2 to S1293:2. It then lists it as an S2 network with site 1.2.

My guess would be that either you have a poor signal for that site, or that there is interference affecting the copy of the control channel, or that you are picking up competing signals on the same frequency.

In my mind you don't have a solid 20db+ SNR signal without interference. It's having difficulty seeing the constant data that would indicate that it is a CAPMAX system (usually the manufactuer ID in the datastream). It needs to be able to see the signal, then get enough of the signal to see the telltale characteristics of a CAPMAX system, then switch to the CAPMAX networkID:SysID, and then make the transition to the disambiguated site NetworkID.

IF you have no other "S1" Network ID in your files, and if you are willing to not put another "S1" Network ID in your files even if you find one (as I said before, S1 CAPMAX network IDs are all over the place across the world),then you could strip the disambiguation from DSDPlus.Networks, .Sites, and .Frequencies just to make things less confusing for yourself. When I say strip I mean anywhere in files that you see S1239:1, replace with S1 .

But likely won't fix the issue because I think the issue is an issue of poor decoding. It seems to be having trouble hanging on to the control channel. Notice the "dwell time" stuff and the "found control channel" multiple times.
