It appears that Abilene's transition from EDACS to P25 Phase II is complete.
The old EDACS system is now silent. She served us well for the last 14 years.
So far the new system seems to be working well, just a bit of an adjustment for many who were used to analog audio, especially on the fireground.

Thanks Ed
I’ll update my ‘Abilene’ file for the next time I get out your way.

Is it all in the clear or is there any encryption? Thanks for the report.

Just to be clear, is the EDACS control channel off the air, or have the talkgroups just gone silent now?

I just left the city radio shop, the gateway has been turned off and they will begin dismantling the EDACS system later in the week.

As far as I know they are. The zoo for sure, not sure about the transition of the rest of them.
I no longer live in Abilene so I cant check on it.
