• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hi people.
I'm from Catalunya. Every security corporation's migratin' to TETRA or TETRAPOL network system.
This is very annoyin' for the rx-amateur coz we can't copy that signals with that kind of encryption. In a way, that network's very dangerous to trust durin' an emergency, coz it uses only 2W on a portable terminal 'n 10W on a mobile terminal. Yeah, I know, that by a digital modulation system there isn't any noise, but although when's a mountain, or a simply concrete wall the signal falls down 'n takes qrm, 'n, what happen when the signal takes qrm on digital? There isn't any signal showed out the speaker.

I wanna know how's goin' P-25 in United States. An Icom functionary saids me that here the P25 system's leaved out 'n gived up to use there 'n not here.

I preferently defend the P25 at the end, 'n I try to convince to all the people I talk about that TETRA's only a manipulation to earn money corruptin' the prices when factin' up.

What else canna say about?

Thanks to all of 'u!

PD: Canna abbreviate or usin' 'r?

TETRA Portables typically use 1W only and mobiles between 3 and 10W, depending on make and model. In a well-designed system 1W is entirely sufficient to balance the up- and downlink, so more power is of no use unless you want to directly communicate between radios, i.e. outside of the system coverage.

Yeah, I know, that by a digital modulation system there isn't any noise, but although when's a mountain, or a simply concrete wall the signal falls down 'n takes qrm, 'n, what happen when the signal takes qrm on digital? There isn't any signal showed out the speaker.
And for P25 digital that does not apply? Is there no interference in analog modes / analog systems?

I preferently defend the P25 at the end, 'n I try to convince to all the people I talk about that TETRA's only a manipulation to earn money corruptin' the prices when factin' up.
Oh, big, bad industry conspiracy. TETRA is an open standard with many vendors, thereby causing competition and lower prices. Compare the prices of TETRA radios and P25, then see if your argument still works.

What else canna say about?
Before you say anything else may I politely suggest that you use proper English in respect to your readers?
Thank you.

Raccon, I'm geek. :) If 'u detect any mistake in my language or some error about the BBCode or some other things, please say it to me, without any trouble. 'u'll give me a favor.

Can anybody move this thread to the appropiate forum? Thanks.

Opz, :-$
Excuse me, over digital there isn't any qrm.

I don't know there, but here, in Catalunya, TETRA's a tool for the high stand people earn money, 'n a lot. Nt only with TETRA, but also with all the uncontrolled bussiness. They takes a comission.

My apologizes, it sounded like you were trying to imitate some slang.

I'm not tryin' to imitate any slang. I don't know why 'u say it.

It's because you're not writing full words, something that's normally done in forums like this one. Writing in SMS slang or any other kind of slang makes you seem to the rest of the group that you're either a kid, or not as intelligent as you might be.

Ok, I'm gonna write well from now, I'll care it.
Please, if you see something more that I can correct, say it to me. Don't forget I'm geek in here.
Oh! Where canna write like that, and where I cannot?

DO NOT ASK ME FOR HELP PROGRAMMING YOUR RADIO. NO.
We're all geeks here. Relax. But in your case, you're fighting a problem where you don't speak English as your native language, which by itself can make it a little harder to get your ideas across in a clear manner,
and using slang and SMS abbreviations doesn't help any.

Write well, and nobody will ever complain about it. I promise you, that's a true statement.

It seems obvious that someone who uses apostrophes is well aware that they are omitting letters. Putting in ' takes just as many keystrokes as e or t or any other letter, so it's not saving any effort.

And this is the SMS language? Ah.
In Catalan we MUST use apostrophes, to put in "l'Anna" and not "la Anna", this is wrong.
But I like that. I might this is the formal language and the other's more pleasing.

Ok. Oh, backing up the TETRA and P25 topic, I think the Generality of here, is almost stupid! Here's a TETRA net no, within other things, be all the emergency services connected and reduce the payments, and there's nobody connected there. On the other band, there's the Forestal Control connected by an analogic net with the fireman group, with the police stations, tacticals (I think), ADF's, etc. THAT'S MOVING!!
