about pcr1500 software

I bought the pcr1500 two years ago with an old simple software,it is very simple and easy .I heard of the new pcr1500 with BONITO software,I want to know how can i get the bonito ?

If you have the "old" R1500 I believe you have to pay for the software... Icom doesn't have a retroactive software offer. If you like the non-voice modes (RTTY, FAX, SSTV) the Bonito software is pretty decent. It's a bit buggy though and crashes on my PC from time to time. When it does, it won't work again without a reinstall. But it saves my frequency charts and such.

Yeah, I've heard that before about the Bonito software. To me that would qualify as a royal pain in the you-know-where.

If you are just interested in digital decoding, the software page at Mike Chace-Ortiz (yes, the MT author) is a place to start. There are many very good packages to be found there, altho I don't know of any (yet) that integrate digital and control for the 1500 like the Bonito software does.
