Yes, you can manually enter 27 Mhz frequencies. Or, you could simply download (CB freqs/channels) from the RR Database using Sentinel.

No, you can receive CB/11 Meters with the included antenna. However if you are seriously into CB, a roof mounted CB antenna should work better due to it's height.

seth21w... CB has been called 11 Meters since it's inception.

Learn something new every day, I've always just heard it referred to as the citizen band.

There are also the "Service Search" HPE files on the BCD436HP Yahoo Group that have the CB service "pre-loaded" in a Favorite List.

I was unaware we could listen to cb on the 436. How does one go about downloading this info, budevans? Thanks in advance.

Concerning the 436,in regard to the original poster. While my experience is certainly less then most here. I have had my 436 for a few weeks now. And, I have been very happy with my purchase.

MENU --> Set Scan Selection --> Set Nationwide Systems then scroll to CB and hit E to enable/disable. Then SERV and scroll to OTHER and hit E to enable/disable.
