Hello fellow scanners. Right now I have the Radio Shack Pro-97 and Pro-2055 scanners. Both of them can receive up to 1300 MHZ. My question is I have seen some scanner's on the market that go to 2000 MHZ or 2.0 GHZ and even some that go over 3000 MHZ or 3.0 GHZ. My question is why would you need a scanner that can receive higher than 1300 MHZ is there really anything good in that range to listen to. If anyone can help me out please let me know, because it seems that most if not all of your police, fire & ems frequencies can be found between 25 - 1300 MHZ.

Cordless phones (usually spread spectrum and/or digital) at 2.4 and 5.8 GHz. Bluetooth and 802.11 at 2.4 GHz. Nothing really worth listening to.
