They are now simulcasting Albuquerque PD's westside talkgroup to 155.850 mhz...so now all us scanner nuts can listen to valley on 154.815 and now westside on 155.850

I noticed that the westside freq is not on all the time. I also noticed the westside talk group has changed!

Yeah...The dispatcher can turn it on and off at will....There's been some "interference" through the link off and on....They turn it off when it gets to be too much.

As for the talkgroup changing.....I don't think that happened....I'm still picking them up on the same one.....However when the VHF patch is up and going, the LPE's can't seem to scan the westside talkgroup for some reason. I hear this is a known problem. So if you have a LPE and want to scan the system, you will have to keep your radio on the westside talkgroup as the priority.

Oh, and the 155.850 patch up at the moment..... works well for me, since I'm up here in Sandoval County, and everything is still VHF....I keep a VHF radio with me and added 155.85 into my scan lists. I spend "MOST" of my time over on the westside anyways, so it's easier this way then carrying 2 radios.

I no longer hear the west side on the 0533 talk group. I had to go to "open" mode to find it again. I now hear it on 0001. I renamed the 0533 to "old westside" and have not heard anything on it in two days. I do hear the westside all the time on the 0001 group.

The reason you don't hear it on 533 any more is because of the patch. You won't hear 533 anymore until they take that patch off.

BTW, this week I'm working valley air so the dispatcher you hear between 1330-2130 (depending on when I get to go to lunch, I usually go at 2130) will be me. Listen and let me know of the mistakes you might hear!

Well cool Dave! Welcome to RR! I'm also in Rio Rancho. So THAT"S the male voice I've been hearing. Usually APD dispatchers are all females....you lucky dog you... 8) I heard you working westside....how does that work? Do they move you all around to the different air's every week? Do you ever get stuck with NCIC? I would imagine that would kind of suck...

I've noticed the westside patch comes and goes...luckly for us it seems to be up MOST of the time.

I noticed that some time ago, as well...those who use the system say they noticed no change at all? But, I do know for a fact that there are times you hear them on either of the two talk groups, but never both at the same time.

They seem to use talk group 0001 when the repeater is up and 0533 at all other times. To follow that, I named 0001 WESTSIDE_NEW and 0533 is just WESTSIDE.

0001 is not a real talkgroup. Its a soft patch so the EDACS system can talk to the VHF side.

Just curious...the patch for Westside is group 0001 (155.850). So, what is the patch group for the N Valley (154.815)?

There isn't one. It is a hard patch were there is a pyhsical radio linked up. So there is no ID in the system, its just always on.

533 is still the TG, scanners only see the patch number. So as the patches change on the system, so will the patch #
