Does anyone know what type of plug connector is needed to fit the rear of the scanner. I have tried 3 local R.S. stores, and I can get a 12V DC adapter, but cannot find the correct plug.
Thanks

I'm not sure how well your shack store is equipped, but I picked up an adapter for my 106 yesterday. The RS branded adapters, the white ones, don't come with a plug. They have a female connector on the end, and you select the proper plug for your device seperately, and the plug is free when you buy the adapter. The one I got was a "C" plug, and I'm willing to bet that's the same one you need for your 197. I would give you the part number for mine, but it's a 9v 500mah, which is what's recommended for the 106. I hope this helps.

Yes, it is the T. It is in stores but not, last I checked, in the catalog. (Odd or what?) The 197 wants 12-13.8v DC at ~600ma.

Confused

The 197 is a base/mobile as opposed to a portable model?

The unit comes with the AC power supply in the box and it already has the plug to the scanner on the end of the cord?

The scanner comes with a DC 12v cord that has a plug to fit in the scanner on one end and the other end is bare wires?

You could put a cigar lighter plug on the dc cord that came in the box?

The above was true for the 2096 which is the older model and was replaced by the 197 or so I thought.
