There are no helicopters stationed at Charity Hospital and there is no heliport on top of the hosiptal. Helicopters usually land at the New Orleans Downtown Heliport next to the Superdome when transporting patients to Charity Hospital and other hospitals in the vicinity.
Although Acadian promised to station a helicopter in New Orleans when they took over Priority EMS in 2/2004, they have still not placed one in the area. The closet Acadian helicopter is currently stationed in Slidell.

then thats what they might been talking about the other day on the radio because when they had that train accident on hwy 11 thats where they took the person ,but it was by helicopter and the name of it was acadianand that helicopter must have been from slidell But why would some one want to go to charity in stead of slidell memoral i think i would go to the closet facilty but any way thanks for the info.I was just replying what they were saying on the radio.Thanks for the info .HEY woo where you located in the city..

Because Charity Hospital is one of 2, Level 1 Trauma Centers, in Louisiana. Major Trauma needs to go to a Trauma Center vs. any other hospital.
