Nice tropospheric ducting tonight. From my location on Cape Cod in MA, whilst twiddling the knob of my Icom IC-R8600, I came across the Accomac site of the Virginia STARS system. Using the 12 kHz IF out of the 8600 to SDR# software, and then out through its DSD+ interface, I was able to identify the site. Had a nice copy on it for a while and observed three out of the four frequencies appear in the DSD+ channel activity window. According to the evil Google Maps about a 391 mile distance between my location and the site. Fun stuff. I am using a Comet GP9NC (commercial dual band VHF/UHF antenna.
