Not sure what is going on, possibly a lost skier/snowshoer/hiker.
Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office, as well as Alpine Rescue has been dispatched, to where, I'm not sure yet.

The Sheriff's Office has also called in a helicopter from one of the TV stations (ch 4 or ch7, don't remember which one they said).

Update

It is Channel 4 helicopter that is helping them out, still don't know what is going on.

They are searching the Mt. Bierstadt area, along with Sawtooth

According to News 4 (5pm) it is a lost experienced female hiker who got seperated from her group during white out conditions.

According to Clear Creek County Sheriff Don Krueger, the search will most likely be put on hold shortly after dark, and resume first thing in the morning if she is not found.

The hiker was found alive and well.
I know ch 7 will have info on at 10pm

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY - A 42-year-old woman from Littleton is safe after spending several hours lost on Mount Bierstadt. The woman got separated from her hiking party during white out conditions Tuesday.

Wendy Dean was rescued around 6 p.m. after a news helicopter spotted her from the air and picked her up. She had been missing since noon. Dean was hiking with two friends when they became separated during a storm. They hiked down and went for help when they couldn't find her.

The Alpine Search and Rescue Team and Clear Creek County Sheriff's Department coordinated the search on the ground. They said Dean was very tired but otherwise in good shape when she was brought to the command center. She didn't need any medical treatment.

Dean told 9NEWS that she got disoriented during the storm, then fell and lost her snowshoes. She says she's an avid hiker and doesn't plan on giving up her hobby.

The mishap took place in roughly the same area where snowshoer Steven Brodsky got lost last month. Brodsky was successfully rescued after spending two days out in the elements.

Those would have been my guess. No DTRS!

No DTRS plans

Clear Creek has no plans to go to the DTRS system. They would have to put
up a bunch of towers to have full county coverage due to the hilly terrain.

So, it is VHF for a while
