Noticed this last second when I was scrolling through my SDR



I also recently noticed that their UID style also matches radios that are active on the HIWIN system, specifically 8115 and 8188

Pretty interesting find to say the least!

After recent events i've seen on the news, they may have been using this channel for Operation Shine the Light

Operation “Shine the Light” is a cooperative effort between federal, state and local agencies, including four non-profit organizations. The lead agencies worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, U.S. Marshalls, U.S. Secret Service, Homeland Security Investigations, Honolulu Police Department, Susannah Wesley Community Center, Hale Kipa, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the National Child Protection Task Force on this joint task force centered on the recovery of endangered and runaway foster youth over the weekend.

Really? Their website says otherwise, also kinda looks like a big DHS seal under the HSI tab on the ICE website

Since they do appear to be related agencies according to the website, it is possible that they were using the National ICE channels.

Ah disregard. For some reason, I thought HSI was the investigative body under CBP. I guess it's actually under ICE.

Either way, I meant to imply that the communication you heard could have been just about anything. It was likely just routine traffic -- but since it was encrypted, there's no way to confirm that.
