I'd like to hear of any active low band systems in the state, public service or simply business.

Thanks

The old statewide 39.5 MHz is still in use in a lot of (primarily rural) communities. Even with the prevalance of 800 MHz, some parishes (e.g. Jackson) still use 39.5 as their primary freq.

39.5000 MHz is the Statewide Lo Band for Interop. It is used for Emergency Management, Police, and was formerly used in Vidalia as the FD Tone Out freq. It is also the current MHP/LSP interop freq. As the Nationwide V-Call/V-Tac, and U-Call/U-Tac freqs are programmed into all the MHP Mobiles, MHP-LSP will then switch to the VHF Hi Freqs.

Lo Band will gradually be phased out in all areas of LA as the LATIE plan is implemented.
