what makes a person an "active member" versus a "member" I would consider myself an active member. I check in 2 or 3 times a day, and probably post once a day or so. I signed up when this was still trunkedradio.net, (had to to have a look around) but I lived in a very rural area with no trunked systems. I probably never looked at this site again until someone on strongsignals mentioned a new radio reference site. Now I feel like a crackhead  and I am here all the time! Also I'm in a metro area now with tons of trunked stuff.

Thanks!!

Welcome back BJ. I like your definition of active member. An active member is one that participates and helps the community on the board here.

I think 250 was designated as a number because when it was at 100 posts, people were replying with only emoticons or one word answers and becoming active members in no time. This way you have to put some extra effort to achieve that status.

Thanks for the replies. I was wondering if it was a post count thing, or if it was how often you logged in. And thank you for the welcome. I found this site again around August when I moved to Vegas. I have a very early join date, but I never made any posts until I moved here. By that time I had earned my ham ticket and had a pretty good grasp of general radio topics.

This makes sense. I have read some old threads about G.I. JOE's old nemesis, Cobra Commander, do exactly as you describe. I was always told God gave you two ears and one mouth and so you should listen half as much as you talk. I think on a BB this is especially true.

..... just please don't make us catch flies with chopsticks!

OR WAX THE CARS!! (wax on, wax off; wax on wax off; wax on.....)

Yep, something happend on December 19, 2002. Not sure what, but I know I was a member before then. Kind of like if you notice lots of the older TRS systems which have been pretty inactive, have a last activity date of 27 Feb 2004. Guess what day RR went live for the public? :)

Interesting, I never noticed that, but there are alot of us whith DEC 19 dates. In my mind it seemed like I had checked out trunked radio.net before 2002, but I normally don't trust my mind to remember exact dates unless I can sing a song to remember it (Columbus sailed the ocean blue in fourteen hundered and eighty two type of thing)

Cool!

umm, could be. Would you believe I was in band for 7 years? I guess I'm not very good at music either. When I typed it I couldn't remember if it was 1482 or 1492. I took a shot. At least I know my birthday
