Was doing a search this morning in the Public Safety Frequencies and found to be active following the Sussex cty trs. 858.5215,856.7875,857.5625,857.75 Did a FCC Search and it shows it to be issued to Nextel.

Have you heard any traffic over those frequencies? Such as Public Safety or such? If not I'm just going to wait till the public safety system is rebanded as that is all I listen to.
There's a Sussex Co TRS? I don't see it in the RRDB. Do you mean State of Delaware Public Safety, Sussex site? Also, I'm guessing that first frequency is 858.5125 (vs 858.5215).

Ok I might have to do some updating to my scanner then. I will be heading down tomorrow so if I go and I cannot hear anything on the current bands I will enter in the new bands into the system. I wonder if all the locals PDs, Rehoboth, etc. Have gotten on board those frequencies yet or if it is just SUSCOM and Fire because 3 frequencies seems like a small amount for the amount of radio traffic Sussex County handles.
The 3 are probably just the Control channels??

Well SUSCOM and the other municipalities in Sussex r still operating on the 860s band because I was able to hear them yesterday. I guess maybe SUSCOM and such are broadcasting on dual frequencies so they can test them to see if they work before the re-banding.
Any more observations on these?

I could be a little of both. Maybe they r trying out the new tower as well as testing the new frequencies. However I would guess that since the city of wilmington is already on the 850 system that they will not be re-banding does anyone know if this is true or not?
I believe that site is considered re-banded frequency wise but is not technically operating as a re-banded system.

well I just hope that when the rest of the state is re-banded it will be easier for me o hear wilmington. I do not live inside the city and the patch is rarely turned on so hopefully once the rebanding takes place they won't need a patch.
Sorry to say it is not likely they will patch system wide (NCC system that is) It just is not necessary to tie up another voice channel or 2 this way.

I remember for a while I used to be able to hear Wilmington all the time outside the city. Like I would hear WFD and such but then I didn't hear them anymore and with how many WPD units I always see outside the city I wonder why they wouldn't patch it county wide.

Couldn't the State of Delaware just request 2 more 800 MHz frequencies for the NCC Site to compensate for added talkgroups to the NCC Site in the event that WPD dispatch and WFD dispatch is patched to the NCC site fulltime?

Well what I was saying is that if they r all in the 850s then the 2 systems could basically be merged you could have NCC frequencies on the Wilmington repeater as well as the Wilmington TGs on the NCC repeater I mean it shouldn't be that big of a change as the radio trunks anyways so if NCC works on it's freqencies and WPD on thieirs but just add the WPD and WFD freqs to the repeaters it shouldn't be that bad but then again I don't know how the radio system works.
I am new to scanning with a Uniden BC898T scanner.Since this is an analog scanner will I be able to hear some of the digital frequencies now being used by police ,etc. after rebanding is complete ?

Regarding the City of Wilmington system:
The original intent (some five or more years ago) was that the Sate would pay for the upgrade of the City radio room, vehicles, and portables; and when re-banding occurs, the City frequencies would be merged into the State system. The upgrade of the City radios was completed a few years ago. The existing radio tower was dis-mantled and a new tower was erected by the State of Delaware. Trunker displays this as State of Delaware Site 4 (intelli-repeater). It is very likely that when/if the State rebands that with the merged frequencies, that the City traffic would be carried on the NCCo system.

Thanks Hai. That's what I thought would happen. In regards to the analog scanner no it will not pick up those frequencies. You need to have a digital trunked scanner to pick up digital trunked channels. I have a PRO-96 myself.
