Active talkgroup 24/7; no audio; unlicensed frequency

So I'm monitoring one of 6 sites of a smartzone system (Palmetto 800 in SC) last night, and I noted that my scanner (a PRO-96) was constantly trying to track talkgroup 57600 on voice frequency 853.4375. However, there is no audio and it's been doing this for at least the last 24 hours.

57600 is not a known active talkgroup, and 853.4375 is not a frequency licenses to the site. The scanner tunes to the frequency, then scans, then tunes the frequency, then scans, over and over. I can lock out the talkgroup and the scanner works properly.

I ran Trunk88 on the site, and sure enough, 57600 shows active on 853.4375 continuously, with no RID associated. It's as if there's something wrong in the data stream on the control channel.

Has anyone ever seen a similar problem like this, or know what might be causing it?

Which site was it? I get occasional "unlisted" TG's in the 50xxx to 65xxx range in the Aiken/Augusta area (sites 005, 006, 007, 008, & 025), but I never noticed if they were on an "unlisted" frequency or not. I didn't notice audio on most of these either and just locked them out.

My first thought was a radio from another area suddenly "associated" with that site, then I realized that would not cause the site to use an unlisted frequency. "interesting"

It's site 35, Paris Mountain, in Greenville Co.

It's still there, an active call grant I guess, on that channel with no audio. I've tuned it manually, nothing there. I even thought perhaps it had to do with rebandning, and tuned to868.4375 (15MHz higher, also not licensed) and I also don't hear anything.

I think it's some type of system glitch.

same problem here in florence with tg 57600.my pro 528 and bc898t both do the same thing i finally locked it out.its digital and im analog,so there goes that...

I get funky high #'d TGIDs popping up on occasion if I run squelch-open on my 996 and am scannign only trunked data. most of the time it works great (and I like to leave squelch open for the weak stuff) - but it'll stop on one of the non-CC frequencies on occasion and display the funky TGs. Most of the time locking out the offending TG does it and I just keep the squelch open.

I just through that in in case any of you are running squelch-open.

The control channel is indeed continuously spitting out late entry OSW's for that talkgroup on that channel. It's still there when real comms are present as well. In the logs that were sent to me, there were nearly 50,000 of these late entry OSW's; no other references to that talkgroup or channel were present. Don't really know what to make of it.
