Does anybody know what the traffic on the Cranbury Turnpike Station Talkgroup is about? The talkgroup is 000-14. It sounds like special operations of some sort. I first heard it on 31 August. I frequently hear the callsigns Alpha 1 Alpha 5 and fuel station. Today, they were talking to a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) ground control station to assign it to a mission, because it had special camera capabilities. They were also talking to 2 platoons and a State Police Helicopter about a mission assignment.

Woah! The NJSP is using Type I talkgroups again? I'll program in the fleetmap and that talkgroup and do some listening. Thanks for posting that.

No problem. The Type I talkgroups I hear used the most are 400-01 which I think is C3 Fleetwide, and 400-10, the former med evac channel. But I've still been listening to 000-14 and it sounds like either a real or practice search and rescue operation involving aerial reconaissance and transmitting of photos to ground stations.

Alpha 1, Alpha 5 have to do with the National Guard; i hear them every day on their talkgroups.

Hi FlyGuy,

Are you sure that you are not receiving a type II talkgroup but your scanner is programmed for type I?

Update,

Doing a little math, you were actually receiving either type II talkgroup 701 or 703 hex (NJ Nationa Guard talkgroups).

Motorola Type II talkgroups 701 through 77F falls within the Motorola Type I Block 0/ fleet O (which equates to Uniden ID 000-14)!!!

Sounds like you have your scanner programmed incorrectly. It should be exclusively Type II. In addition Troop C is now SmartZone and I don't believe that SZ supports Type II.

Wow, thanks. I have an RS Pro 95 with an 800 MHz antenna. So how do I re program it right? I read somewhere that 2 of the block sizes are S14. And I have had my scanner programmed this way for a while. I don't know why I suddenly started receiving the NG.

Alright, I reprogrammed my scanner for Type II and everything is working fine. But with the FCC rebanding, I'm just waiting to see what it does to the NJSP system and if it affects scanning them.
