LOCATION: 144th Ave. 405' E. of Imboden Road. ( Approximately 15 miles North of Watkins, CO.)
On 11-27-08 at approximately 6:52 A.M. Troopers responded to 144th Ave. near E. Imboden Road.
A white 2004 Oldsmobile Alero Coupe was traveling westbound on 144th. The vehicle entered and failed to negotiate a right hand curve and traveled off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle continued while out of control and rolled three times, ejecting the unrestrained driver during the third roll. The vehicle came to its final rest on all wheels facing in a north easterly manner. The driver came to rest nearby the vehicle.
The unrestrained male driver has been identified as Matthew A. Johansmeier, 22 of Brighton, CO. Johansmeier sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene by the Adams County Coroner.
Alcohol, drugs and weather conditions were not suspected as contributing factors, however speed is believed to be the contributing factor.
Next of kin have been notified.
