It would be great if someone could answer this question...

In Adams County there are a number of rural fire departments. Bennett Fire Rescue happens to be the one I am referring to here. Under the frequencies it list's Adams County SO as a 400MHz frequency, which is to be expected, however Bennett Fire Rescue along with a few other departments are listed as 154 MHz. I know for a fact that all of the departments are running UHF for their operations. Can someone please tell me if this is a frequency that can only be picked up by VHF radio's and why if the departments are using UHF radio's is this frequency listed in the 100's.

Thank You

Bennett Fire uses Talkgroups 39 for dispatch and 40 for fireground on the state DTRS system which is 700/800 MHz. 154.250 is still on the air and primarily used for for tone paging with occasional radio traffic on the VHF side.

The UHF frequencies listed 460.375, 460.525, 460.550 and 460.575 are used for paging only for the departments listed which are in the Western part of Adams county in the Metro area.

Adams S.O. stopped using UHF for law several years ago.
