I'm thinking the Jail and Courts on Bridge street. Jail TG's (Maybe court ops as well?) seem to be restricted to the simulcast site. I remember there was a small tower with a few sticks on it years ago near the jail/courts complex.

Chris's link has it - it's location 3 on the license at 19150 E 160th in Brighton on a tank....based on Google earth the tanks look to be just south of 160th.

Hoyt Tower

For what its worth, when I head out east I lose the ADCO Simulcast, 700 Meg., at about Haysmount Road alignment. I pick up the ADCO SO from the Hoyt tower there on out to Last Chance. None of the other ADCO municipalities, like Thornton, Brighton, Commerce City or Northglenn seem to be carried by the Hoyt tower. Which makes sense, only the SO needs communication that far east. I've not had the opportunity to check out the Hoyt Tower activity on Pro96com, someday.

Zap can be logged from most parts of the metro area (including downtown Denver) pretty easily; Hoyt on the other hand is a different story.

I'll see if I can log it. I think Zap is hit and miss from my place for some reason.

I also don't get a signal at all from Zap which I'm disappointed about. For some reason Smoky Hill also is hit and miss even though it's due east from me not more than maybe 12 miles. I get the mountain sites quite nice though - Buckhorn comes in very nice even though it's many, many miles away.

Have you tried a dedicated 800MHz yagi? This more than doubles the sites I can log from any one location.

I'm having trouble locating the FCC callsign/license for Auraria. WPTZ761doesn't appear to be valid. I searched the database using both frequency and location and can't come up with anything that matches.

Does anybody have more current info?

WPTZ761 is licensed to Colorado.

Primary record here: ULS License - Public Safety 700 MHZ Band-State License License - WPTZ761 - COLORADO, STATE OF

New paperwork on that license here: ULS Application - 0004560520 - COLORADO, STATE OF

Thanks! So it's a blanket license for use anywhere in the state, with an output freq between 769 to 775.

That's going to make it difficult to plot signal maps. No power, no antenna height, no exact location.

Well, the RTD expansion into the state DTRS will formalize the Capitol Site, since that is one of the new locations on their license.

Zap is a hard one to reach from the city. It is behind smokey hill, which is like a small mountain range east of the metro area. I can't even get it from Parker, but as soon as I get to E-470 and Smokey hill...clear as day.
