All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi all,

Does anyone know if ADP that is used on the APX radios will work with the XTS series radios? For example If I had an APX4000, APX6000, and XTS2500 could they all work together with ADP encryption as long as they have the same key?

Thanks,

Katt

Only limitation is XTS can only do 8 keys. APX can do many more.
Otherwise we have both radios using it just fine.

As does L3 Harris on the XL185/XL200, and Relm does on the KNG series.

FWIW I've tested both AES-256 and ADP (ARC-4) on my 7.16 trunking system, and passed coded traffic between numerous APX, XTS, XTL, EF Johnson VP-6000/VP-5430, VP600, Tait 9400, Harris XG-185p, and Relm KNG-P2 800 portables.

The only issue I observed was some garbled decoding on the EF-Kenwood VP-5430, almost like it loses the cypher stream, in weak signal areas whereas nearby APX radios never missed a beat or had any audible BER.

L3 Harris also has ARC4 on the M7300 and the XG100M mobiles as long as you have the feature enabled and your RPM is above a certain revision (RPM 10B does not support ARC4). I'm using RPM 14 and it works great. ARC4 works great with Motorola ADP.
