Hey Guys & Ladies,

I have a question I have a live feed via Planeplotter network using RTL1090 and I would like to know what type of amplifier would I need to get more aircraft? Also to lower the threshold so I can track more aircraft. I get around 100 aircraft sometimes more via RTL1090 during the mid afternoon. Also please provide links to what all I need to buy. I use the DPD Productions ADS-B outdoor antenna that works really well. For the dongle I use the NooElec NESDR Mini 2 USB ADS-B Receiver.

Also I would like to get a pre amplifier for Military air but not sure what to get and the cables as well. I own the DPD Productions MilTenna Omni UHF/VHF Base Antenna that does VHF & UHF for Commercial and Military. I'll be using my Uniden BC536HP scanner for listening.

Thank you for your time!

If you're not in a high RF environment, I'd recommend an LNA-1000 pre-amp from the RF Basic Store.
You can find them on ebay.

10 1000MHz Low Noise Amplifier LNA 1000 30dB Gain SMA | eBay

The LNA-1000 is now around $125, but I see there's one on ebay now for around $75.
They run off of 12v DC.

Here's a link to a post I made a while back.

I mount the pre-amp right at the antenna and it does a great job on MilAir, SatCom, and ADS-B.
The PVC housing I use is shown in this post.

I have a lot of antennas and all but one of them has a pre-amp mounted at the base.
I put several videos on youtube showing SatCom reception using and ST2 and an LNA-1000 amp.

Here's a sample of one of those ST2 antennas that feeds 32 radios. (One of them is my Broadcastify feed)

Well, it sounds what you got working now is pretty good antenna wise. I bought a Mini-Circuits VBFZ-1065 band pass filter but I didnt need it. you can try that and see if it helps improve anything.
