Not Where You Think
Hey All,

After delaying for a bunch of years, I finally have a AirNav Radar Box on the way. I intend to use it mostly in the car at my favorite spotting locations I frequent. I know it comes with an antenna, but being a ham, I've come to be a skeptic of "supplied aerials".

Anyone have a recommendation for a really good 1090MHz antenna to use on the car? Other thought was to just but a cheap VHF 1/4 wave off eBay and cut it down to 1090MHz 5/8 wave or so.

Thanks fellas...

You might want to contact DPD. Might able to fix something up for your car...

Q: Can I get something custom built?
A: It all depends... If the product you'd like falls within the basic design of what we already offer, it may be possible to create what you're looking for. Details of what you need should be sent by email to us so we can talk about it further. All efforts will be made to fill a custom order, if at all possible.

I show the math to be 6.3 inches for a 5/8 wave....why not try a UHF 1/4 wave antenna to start
