ADS-BX Errors

I just recently found ADSB Exchange . I actually feed for FlightAware and was just looking at some other ones to see how they handle Military. Since I found them thats where at least one of my windows stay. I noticed this weirdness this afternoon (see pic). Is this just an error in gaps of coverage and it trying to put a route together? Just imagine if this was a real flight with all the A2A refueling etc. Wouldn't you be glad to get off that Herc?

That visual effect shows up when two aircraft are using the same hex code simultaneously. The network doesn't know what to do about the conflict so the track bounces back and forth between the two aircraft.

It is not supposed to happen, but there are parts of the hex assignments that are duplicate and AE61FA is in one of those blocks. For whatever reason hex codes from about AE61F6 to AE6206 are each assigned to an Army UH-60M AND and USAF C-130J.

You can see from your example the helo is operating in Southern California and the Herc is in the mid-west.

learn something new every day. i had seen similar before and wondered what was up, and involved H60s as well.
