Hey all, this has kinda been in my head ever since i first registered for this site (i still really like RadioReference, best site for getting freqs so far), and i got this idea, why not find a way to remove the ads on the pages (main page and forums) for registered members. In short, want to see a clean page with no ads? Just register for a free account and lose the anoying ads. Another idea would to lose the ads for Premeium Members as well, or just allow that for those members only. Any thoughts on these ideas? Thanks and continue the really great site :)!! N9NRA

Not sure but I believe those ads help Lindsay cover the costs associated with the site, you can use something like Ad block or similar programs, Thats what I use and it works great...........Hoser

The ads seem okay to me.

Maybe have an option for Paid members to not see them since they're supporting their own around here.

I have no issues with these ads, and I don't even have an ad blocker program. If the ads bring income to the Radio Refererence site I think that is great ( more features in the future? )
I have actually used the ads a few times as I have seen things that showed interest.

Just adding my 2 cents.

The ads that we include on the site generate significant revenue for us to fund future projects and the site business as a whole, so unfourtantly they aren't going away any time soon.

In addition, the ads are highly relevant to the site's visitors - that is why they are so successful. You don't see pop-ups, porn, credit card offers, mortgages, dancing lizards, shoot the money, et al.

And that's why I don't mind them. They are relevant and I have clicked on some (well, the Scanner master ones anyway).

And i agree with all of the stuff you all have said here, i was just thinking on an idea and wanted to see what folks on here thought. The idea of no ads for paid members is what i kinda was getting at here, be a neat way to get some more paid members on the site, i know i`d go that route (really eying it kinda hard right now for some of the features i`d get), and might do that sometime really soon. Thanx :)! N9NRA

When ads are relevant and not "in the way" they are actually welcome. I also believe in supporting companies that support things of interest to me. Being a premium subscriber here is a separate issue. Thanks for providing a great site (and only allowing relevant ads).

The adds are on target with the idea/ design of this site. RR has done a good job w/ selecting advertisers who relate to the subject of radios. I've even clicked on them a couple of times and supported their advertisers... can't say that about other websites.
