That's interesting that they are using here in Baldwin County. I haven't seen any additional antennas on the state cars here. Just the two 800 MHz whips and the vhf whip. I will need to do some searching with the digital scout next time I'm around them :wink:
Ahh the E-Ticket! Also in experimental usage in the Jackson, MS Metro Area with MHP.... They use a new UHF system for the MDS's.... If the program works out right,.. they are going to expand it Statewide here by 07/08.

Since they are in my area, they may have some of this new equipment in their cars since there are only a few counties participating so if it proves effective, they will install the new equipment in the remaining cars. I haven't heard any data tx'd on their vhf frequencies so it may be on the County 800 MHz system system in Mobile.

I've been thinking about this one. I've come up with two possibilities: Either the DPS is using a conventional VHF/UHF/800mhz frequency/frequencies for this, or they are using the online ticket system over SouthernLinc. My local PD has some MDTs in in a few cars, and they use SouthernLinc to carry the data.
From what I gleamed from news articles, DPS wants to implement a VHF digital trunked system. It woudn't be too hard when that system is fully implemented to have a talkgroup set up for data transmissions.
