AF 1 heads to Iowa Tuesday

On Tuesday, April 12, the President will travel to Menlo, Iowa, landing and departing from 132nd Wing, Iowa Air National Guard, Des Moines International Airport. He will be speaking at POET Bioprocessing - Menlo scheduled for 1:45 PM CT.

There have been reports that on limited occasions the USSS recently has been heard in the clear, however don't count on it. You may be able to follow the action on state, county and local TGs/frequencies for the motorcade and road closures, also don't forget airport ground freqs/TGs for LE traffic.

When I worked for the 132FW, it was always interesting when POTUS arrived. Depending on the POTUS, it was either a total lockdown of the base or a "meet and greet" with the troops. The Secret Service guys were either friendly or stand-offish as well. It was funny, because we always knew a good week ahead of time when someone was coming to visit, as the telco would show up first to turn up circuits for them.

AF1 82-8000 on the way after a 20 minute delay, possibly due to secure call with Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom today just before leaving the White House.
