Majors Airport takes in several DoD Aircraft to repair/referb/install Electronic and Communications gear. The AF-1/2 Aircraft along with the various USAF RC-135 (Rivet Joint) aircraft are on the airfield at various times and test flights in the overnight hours are common once the aircraft work is completed and they test to validate all is good.

USAF did have a Detachment on site as I recall to manage and monitor work, etc...

*** Radio Reference Database - Check HUNT County

- You will likely need a P25 (Phase 1 & 2) capable scanner for some of the comms in Hunt County Public Safety anl;ong with DMR and some old analog (FM)

The test aircraft also use HF Radio at times, but I had never copied any traffic...

See Radio Reference database - look at Majors airport

Majors Airport (GVT) - NOTE the Aircraft, including MIL-AIr) are in "AM" Mode for Air-Ground comms....

Thank you for your response. I should have mentioned this is Greenville North Carolina not South Carolina. Sorry.

During previous visits Pitt Co sheriff has provided the escort for the motorcade and street closures, I would check their TAC or event channels for traffic. Don't forget airport police frequencies/TGs.

That said, if help is needed, they may ask the assistance of the NC SHP which will use Statewide Events TGs and the SHP Motor TG on Viper.

While USSS frequencies are typically full time encrypted there are the seldom times when they aren't, they are worth having in your scanner. The most common for a VP visit is channels Charley, November, Sierra, and Tango, all available HERE.

Typically, there are no special air frequencies used by AF2 and during the VP visits, they use the standard airport and ATC frequencies. Also don't forget that AF2 can be tracked using @AirplanesLive website HERE.
