Is there an affordable digital scanner? I just need one for my home office in the City of Delaware.

I just need to pick up

Delaware City PD & FD
Delaware County SO
Delaware County Fire
Ohio State Highway Patrol

Since it will be in my home office, I dont think I will be able to get Columbus PD & FD on it but I just want to know whats happening locally. I will be getting a Uniden BCD996XT for my car later on. Thanks!

Affordable? No. You're going to drop well over $300 (and probably over $400) no matter which way you go, unless you're lucky enough to score one used or on sale.

Not ture. Radio Shack is still having sales on Pro-106 $249 and Pro-197 $299 until Dec 18.
Don'y know how you missed it since everyone has been talking about RS sales since Black Friday.

Great scanner. Not sure id RS programs any more. However, V-Folder 16 Has COIRS in Scanlist 5.

Use buttons as follows:
FUNC
PGM
F1 (Load)
Scroll ▼ to V-Folder 16:
F3 (Load)
F1 (YES)
please wait...
SCAN and wait for EPROM to reboot with folder 16.
Press 5 to enable scanlist 5 (Delaware)
Press 1 to disable Scanlist 01 (Belmont)

Gotta speak English for me sir. What is EPROM, COIRS?

So are you also saying that this also "self programs?" That all these TG's for OSHP and Delaware County agencies are in here?

Just purchased the Pro 106 in Ocala RS for $249 and had a $25 coupon for a total of $224. Still on sale until the 18th.

You didn't read my entire message, and missed the part where I said "unless you're lucky enough to score one used or on sale."

I personally don't pay much attention to Black Friday or holiday sales, since I don't base my holiday purchasing on what's on sale. I can make up my own mind.

I might also point out that the digital scanners don't go on sale too often, so grab one now before its too late.

Acronym for Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory.
Acronym for Central Ohio Interoperable Radio System
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=1370 This link has all Police, Fire, EMS and Sheriff groups for Delaware county and are in V-Folder 16 as stated in previous post.

Yes, Delaware Co is in folder 16 as in above link. Copy and use the method listed in previous post to load #16 to scanner working memory. However, can't say why but Ohio MARCS is not in any of these V-Folders.

Thanks fmon!

Ok I got it figured out on the scanner.

What about OSHP?

Also, can I rename the titles?

If OSHP is MARCS, no, it's not in V-Folders.

Check lettering above numbered keys for each letter. Then Pres number key for choice of first letter. E.g. 2 will popup up ABC on top line. If letter is a, press 1. A will enter with prompt ready for second choice. Repeat up to 16 characters. Use ► for blank space. Use CLR to correct a previous error.

When finished, Save out then SCAN

And then you hit Tom Swisher's estimate of around $300.00 + after you buy the scanner on sale and add a programming cable and programming software to make the scanner more enjoyable to use. And as long as you use it as a base radio you don't need the DC plug adapter which would add more to the cost. Bottom line is a digital scanner, properly equipped will set you back over $300.00.

The scanner was on sale for $299.99 at Radio Shack. When time came to pay, the price was $320.24 out the door.

For another $180, you could buy the Uniden Home Patrol, plug in your zip code and everything you want is there .. no programming required. It's a dream.
