And it's labelled 44-01.

That is starting to make some sense now. Except that the frequencies don't match 48-02. Theory: The sites in the simulcast group will have their "Site" value be 01, 02, etc.

I'm going to move 48-02 to Strathcona on the map and in the DB unless one of you has compelling evidence to believe it's not at that location.

I question if this site is actually on the Bell tower. I am quite close to there and should be able to hear it, even without an antenna attached. But when I take the antenna off of the 996 the signal goes away.

It is not that strong here .. and Harry Shute is getting it 5 bars. But he is using a scanner and not a radio with a true RSSI.

Is there a chance that if this indeed is going to be a simulcast system, each tower will have it's own set of frequencies?

That's not the true definition of simulcast, but I guess anything is possible. The whole concept of simulcast is based upon having the same signal on the same frequency being broadcast from different locations at the same time.

I've heard that the simulcast sites will have more than the standard 4/8/12 frequencies, maybe as high as 20 or more. So maybe one set of frequencies is being tested in one location right now and another set at another site. And the weak signal might be because it's not fully turned up yet? - I've experienced that with several sites in the past.

I would agree with the not fully turned up. I can read the CC but it will not stop my scanner on the site when scanning. I think for simulcast they would need 20 frequencies in Edmonton. Perhaps use of these 10 frequency sites is just for set up.

I live close to the Evergreen site. I get the CC - 35 DB on my r7000 with simple indoor antenna -5 DB without
On my 396 full bars with antenna and 1-3 without. Not exactly scientific way to test reception
I see Evergreen, Bell and Century place towers from my place, closets is Evergreen

My 996 is stopping on both Strathcona and Bell towers without a problem. Not too sure why it would be different from yours but thus far it seems normal here.

Yes it's my 996XT that's not stopping on Bell Tower but my 396XT is. The 996 also takes a long time to decode the CC data after I sit on it despite I'm getting it 5 bars.

Anyone know if Peer assignment is assigned dynamically by the system or static by a user.

In my experience it's dynamically kept up by the system, based on whether or not there is a network connection to the other site(s), to put it simply.
