Greetings all from Sunny (and humid) Florida.
I am a breaking news photographer (and former law enforcement) based in SWFL.
There are a trio of 3 of us that cover a pretty large radius. I host 2 feeds in my condo (Fire/Ems and City PD)
I have an idea but do not know how/what to label it is, or exactly come up with the idea.

fire/ems uses Locution automated dispatching. I am looking for a way to use or create something that would pick up on certain voice phrases. The automated dispatch sequence is as followed (typical format for dispatching):

“*tone* medic 1 battalion 1 engine 1, SHOOTING, 1234 Main St. [then repeats again] medic 1 battalion 1 engine 1, SHOOTING, 1234 Main St. respond on control west, timeout xx:yy hours”

I am looking for something that will pick up on key words such as “SHOOTING” “STABBING” “ASSAULT VICTIM”, etc and send out some type of alert such as Text, email, etc.

I feel like it would be fairly simple to achieve the voice part of it since it is then same automatic dispatch voice and doesn’t fluctuate since it’s a computer voice.

Has anyone tried or accomplished this?

Rangecast is a product that does what you are subscribing.

More on ScannerMatser's site.

Whether or not you could 'teach' speech recognizing software to duplicate this is an open question. It's not something that I have tried personally.

There are some speech recognition development boards available. Try TI and DigiKey for others.

Alexa - listen to my scanner and text me if you hear it say "SHOOTING” “STABBING” or “ASSAULT VICTIM
